adalah band yang dari kecil bener2 gw idolakan, gw paling ngefans ma DEWA BUDJANA... Permainan gitarnya keren abizz, apalagi suara2 gitar yang timbul dari efeknya.. WOW!!! Keren Abizzz....
ARMAND juga suaranya keren, dia tuh orang yang bisa menciptakan ternd tersendiri yang orang belum punya trend tersebut...
THOMAS permainan bassnya bener2 asyik buat didengar dan ga membosankan, gayanya klo lagi main bass bener2 cool banget.. Thomas paling ga suka klo gaya rambutnya ada yang nyamain, klo ada orang yang nyamain gaya rambutnya dia pasti langsung ganti model rambutnya....
HENDY, klo lagi ngedrum gayanya boleh juga tuh, ketukan2nya juga ga monoton dan bervariasi... Begitu pun dengan drummer terdahulunya seperti RONALD dan BUDHY, mereka adalah salah satu orang yang paling berjasa dalam mengangkat nama GIGI sampai sekarang....
Dimanapun GIGI konser gw pasti nonton coz gw ga pernah mau ketinggalan koser mereka....
Pokoknya GIGI IS THE BEST dan GAK ADA MATINYA!!! Album GIGI gw di rumah lengkap, paling cuma album "2x2" yang ga ada coz albumnya susah banget dicari, bagi yang punya album 2x2 kasih tau gw dunk, soalnya gw pengen banget punya album itu....
Kesimpulannya adalah GIGI itu band yang paling keren dan top abizz di Indonesia, ga ada band lain yang bisa menggeser nama besar mereka....

#41. Ah, Gigi. One of the best and most consistent Indonesian bands around, and definitely one of the best live acts (though Armand sometimes overdoes it for my tastes...but hey, what do I know?).
So you have 2x2, eh? Hang on to that, it's practically a collector's item, their rarest album. Since Gigi moved to Sony, all their pre-Sony albums have been re-mastered and re-released save for that one. I'm not sure why, if I'm not mistaken it's a contractual entanglement with the company that released it. Anyway, finding it in music shops is a bastard of a job, since it's near impossible to find a copy, as far as I know.
About the album itself, I don't have it myself. According to their bio on musikmu.com, it was a poor seller. In terms of quality, I wouldn't be surprised if it were one of their weakest albums, considering it was the work of a band in flux: only two original members left, one new member was their ex-bassist's technician who only got the tech job because he badly wanted to learn from Thomas, a whole boatload of guest musicians to pick up the slack. Ambitious for sure, but based on that info alone, I'd assume it's a disparate effort. I'd probably have a different opinion if I actually heard the album, but refer to the above paragraph. 2x2 is like the holy grail of Gigi albums.
Anyway, I feel Opet deserves his share of plaudits. From being a humble bass tech to full-time member of one of Indonesia's biggest bands and having a hand in one of their biggest commercial successes (Kilas Balik), he could've stuck with the gig and been pretty well off. But he opted to step aside once Thomas was drug-free and start from scratch with his own band, so you gotta give the guy some credit for having the balls to do so. And his new band, Tiket, is doing alright, so all's well with the world.
Speaking of Opet, you might've read that he, Baron and Ronald got back on stage with Gigi for a little reunion gig to mark Budjana's wedding in Bali. Man, that must've been some cool gig. Hope that wasn't a one-off and they'll do that again sometime. Maybe for their tenth anniversary, they can do another reunion gig, but this time on a bigger scale. They definitely deserve it.

#31. Hmm, food at Indonesian malls and hotels? I don't really think about it, where possible I eat as inexpensively as my pockets can go. I try to avoid eating fastfood in Indo bcoz wtf, I can eat that crap here in Msia. But as Ana says, it's relatively expensive to eat at posh places in Jkt. Which is why I avoid it like the plague. Heck it's expensive to eat food at any posh place, regardless of country.

#27. I remember had Marlin ikan bakar and dinner at Warung Doel (milik Rano Karno) di KTS..However, don't you think food is more expensive in JKT??..at the mall though not the street vendors..next time you go, compare food court at Plaza Senayan & Mal Taman Anggrek with KLCC..
Come to think of it, JKT is more expensive than KL, esp hotel rate..Fairy, do you agree??..

seeing them perform live even for 5 minutes is just undescribable.
but i got more than what i had anticipated that night. and i am thankful.

#1. hello helloooo...hehehe i really miss them!! they performed a great show last night! I just cant believe that I finally watched their concert after years of admiring their music ! Bravo! Bravo! Cuma aku frust dtg lambat kat klia...so frustrated.. didnt say goodbye to them..toyer jek muka aku bila tengok Lion Airline depart..sedey sedey!! last night is still like a dream...it is such a wonderful xperience and I love Them so so so much...ever la pulak kan! hahahaha

Arriving at the studio, I could see that it was about to burst at its seams with the amount of people inside accompanying Gigi band, from their photographers to label representatives. The radio studio is not that small, really; it's very comfortable to hold three or four guest artists plus the DJ. However if you have close to 10 people in there then it starts to become an issue for claustrophobics!
After this enlightening session with Thomas, Armand, Budhy and Budjana along with the people who managed them came out from the building to leave for the stadium where they were scheduled to conduct a sound check before their Friday concert. As they took their seats in their vehicle, the guys smiled and waved at me furiously before rumbling down the road to their exit.
